Most ballet dancers get their start with performing in the Nutcracker as little students. For most of these kids pictured, this is their first ballet performance. The anticipation to get on stage for the first time in front of thousands of people, a live orchestra, and their family is always a joy to watch. I remember being in their shoes getting ready to go on stage for the first time. As I have grown older, I have grown to appreciate moments like this because maybe in 10 years they will be where I am looking at the next generation perform for the very first time. It is an honor to be apart of this magical, new experience for the kids as we dance on stage together.
