Venice: A City by the Water
I will not lie- Venice was the least favorite city for me. There were so many tourists and I did not feel like I was actually in Italy. I felt like I was at an amusement park and everything was fake.
The above statement is only applied to the main island of Venice because after a 45 minute ferry ride north, I landed on the small island of Burano. This place was magical. The houses were colorful and bright and no one spoke english. I was in another world and I did not want to leave.
I was on a train the next day to Florence to explore another Italian treasure! Italy is important to me because this is where some of my family is from and I am finally making my way through the country that I heard about as a kid.
