Keeps the City Moving

Facade of South Station in Boston

What does your daily commute look like? Do you take a public transportation, walk, or drive? South Station is a hub of transportation for Boston. The station was built in 1899 and then rebuilt in 1985. Local and national trains, national buses, and the T (subway) are coming in and out of South Station at all hours of the day. It is incredible the organization it takes to run all these moving parts - literally.

We can take transportation and our daily commute for granted. How far transportation has come is incredible. We can travel the world in the blink of an eye when a hundred years ago, to cross the United States was an incredible feat. Although transportation has continued to grow and transform over the years, South Station has been a staple to Boston's transportation. This station keeps the city moving.

This week my community will be the city of Boston. I will traveling around the city engaging the people and buildings around me! Follow #engagethecommunity for the latest updates!
