RADIOACTIVE

This piece was created for Zion Harris for his 8th grade graduation from Charles River School. He wanted to show his craft of ballet to his fellow peers and their families. The song choice was to represent the idea that his craft is different than what most boys choose to pursue and that him choosing to pursue ballet as an art is radioactive.

The World Premiere of this piece was performed on June 11, 2014 at The Charles River School in Dover, MA

Choreographer - Matthew Gattozzi

Dancer - Zion Harris

Music - Radioactive by Imagine Dragons

The Outsider

The Outsider is the first piece I choreographed in my life and I collaborated with my friend Jefferson Payne. It is about a girl trying to figure out the World. She tries different things, and tries to be with the others but by the end she finds inner peace within herself. She is content with being the outsider in the world because she becomes who she wants to be, not what others want her to be. Jefferson and I tried to use patterns, formations, and movements to depict this concept.

World Premiere: March 11, 2012 This piece was performed in the studios at Boston Ballet with students of the Pre-Professional Program of Boston Ballet School.

Choreographed by Matthew Gattozzi & Jefferson Payne

Music: The Cello Song by Steven Sharp Nelson

Dancers:

The Outsider- Rowan Reyes

The World- John Deming Amanda DeVenuta Kelsy Di Giovanni Jonathan Hamel-Sellman Alexandra Heier Connor Holloway Helena Poindexter Fiona Wada-Gill
